Junior AI Specialist – Data & Analytics Early Career Program

Are you energized by dynamic challenges and solving complex and often time-sensitive challenges? Rabobank is looking for an AI Specialist who thrives in a fast-pacing environment where flexibility, initiative, and clear communication are key.

By staying at the forefront of emerging AI developments, you’ll play a key role in translating innovation into practical impact. While you won’t be building models from scratch, you’ll collaborate closely with consultants and business teams to make improvements. Your expertise in designing and contributing to reusable machine learning frameworks or tools, writing clear documentation and technical standards, and influencing AI-related policy will directly support the growth of Rabobank’s AI capabilities. You’ll contribute to a team that’s advancing the future of AI in a dynamic and multifaceted environment.

During our  Early Career Program, you’ll develop your career over 18 months by becoming an expert in your field. Throughout the program, you’ll stay with one team and receive training to enhance your hard skills. You’ll be paired with a buddy who will guide you in navigating the bank. For your personal development, you and your fellow starters will follow the Early Career Program and receive guidance from a Data & Analytics Development Consultant. We’re here to prepare you for sustainable career!

Practical

• Length: 18 months, after which you will continue working within your team
• Hours per week: 40
• Salary of 4007,83 euro based on 40 hours
• Every Friday afternoon at the office with other Data Analytics Young Professionals in the ECP program!

Your development in a Data Analytics Early Career Program!

Within this program, you will have the opportunity to get to know yourself, your trade, and Rabobank. You will start the program in a junior position within one team, participate in (online) workshops and training modules with other young professionals, and quickly gain practical experience.

Together with Advanced Analytics community there is room for creativity and initiative to organize events, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing sessions. This way, we continuously improve the program and ourselves! You will easily build a large and valuable network within the bank.

You and your talent

• Education: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering
• Experience: 0–2 years in AI/ML roles (e.g., Data Scientist, ML Engineer, AI Researcher)
• Technical Exposure:
  • Hands-on experience with ML development and deployment
  • Familiarity with both experimental and production-grade ML systems
• Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Worked with governance, risk, or compliance teams
  • Contributed to AI strategy and standard-setting across teams
• Strategic & Methodological Thinking:
  • Deep understanding of ML, deep learning, and generative AI
  • Skilled in identifying scalable, reusable solutions across use cases
• Governance & Policy:
  • Able to evaluate and advise on AI-related policies and frameworks
• Communication & Influence:
  • Strong communicator who bridges technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and advocacy. Not just by delivering clear messages, but also in sensing how to engage and influence different stakeholders. You understand that effective communication is as much about listening and adapting as it is about speaking.
• Documentation & Process Design:
  • Experienced in writing technical guidelines, playbooks, and best practices
• Mindset & Attitude:
  • Flexible, proactive, and hands-on approach to diverse challenges
• Language: Excellent command of English
• Residency: Currently living in the Netherlands
