Internship Private Markets Investing

Are you interested in all aspects of investing in private markets, like real estate, private equity/debt and infrastructure? Are you analytical and a team player? Than you are the one we are looking for! At NN Group you get firsthand experience at all aspects of investing in private markets at a large institutional investor. You work together with various investment professionals in an international work environment. You will contribute directly to optimizing the management of the private markets investment allocation, in particular for our DC pension business. Does that sound of interest? See more below.

What you are going to do

During your internship you will investigate the allocation to private market assets for DC pension business. In addition, you will be involved in the management of our real estate investments. .

Main tasks:

• Investigate how DC Pensions can invest into private market assets: What products and practices are out there already, what is happening in the US, UK and Continental Europe, which initiatives are currently being developed? What could be preferred ways forward for NN, leveraging on its existing private markets portfolios and access? This investigation will involve desktop research as well as having conversations with the various internal and external stakeholders of NN (advisors, investment managers) to gather insights
• Supporting investment professionals in various aspects of management of the real estate portfolio, such as on transactions, reporting, research and communication with various internal departments and external asset managers involved in our investments
• Team support – organizing, making notes, preparing memos and presentations

Who you are

• You are in the final phase of your HBO or WO education, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or Real Estate
• You have an affinity for investing, in particular private markets such as real estate, infrastructure, mortgages and private equity/debt
• You have strong analytical skills, and are reliable, proactive, independent, hands on and a team player
• You are proficient in English
• You are available for 36 hours, 5 days per week
• You are available to start your internship from February/March 2026 for at least 4 months 

Who you will work with

You will be working with various investment professionals in an international work environment in the private markets team at the NN Group Investment Office. In addition, you will be in contact with various stakeholders of our investments, such as various NN departments involved and external managers involved in managing the private market investments.
